The extensive onsite railway infrastructure allowed for precise positioning of heavy raw goods and extraction of finished product. Lyons became Greenford's biggest employer and later pioneered in electronic machines and computing. The site also developed the breakfast cereal Ready Brek in the 1950s. The site was landscaped with trees, but the need for the facility diminished after the merger of Lyons with Allied Bakeries in the 1980s and the focus on spirits. The facility was redeveloped in 1998 and is now known as Lyon Way Industrial Estate.
