London Gatwick Airport in 1930 opened as a small flyer club used by people with enthusiasm towards flying exclusively. Later in the mid-1930s, this tiny aerodrome was licensed as a public aerodrome to provide air traffic to Paris. This aerodrome was opened officially by Queen Elizabeth II on 9th June 1958.
As of today, Gatwick Airport has two terminals North and South Terminals. An interesting fact about Gatwick Airport is that it is the most efficient and largest Airport in the world with a single runway.
