Near the market centre lies the late Dr Isaac Rutton's residence, a physician with a long and wide practice in these parts. He died in 1792, and his eldest son, Isaac Rutton, esq., now of Ospringeplace, sold the home to Mr. John Basil Duckworth, who presently owns it. In the middle of it is a magnificent, attractive mansion erected in 1759 by John Mascall, gent., who lived there and died in possession of it in 1769.
