Shepperton, on the north bank of the Thames, is the county's most southern parish, lying on the Surrey bank opposite Walton and Weybridge. For the same reason, a tiny portion of the south bank further west is also included in the parish. Both were thought to be in Surrey by parish officers in the nineteenth century, and the parish unsuccessfully claimed six acres in Weybridge in 1847.
